How to Open the File Menu With Keyboard Shortcut

  • Step 1: Click inside a Notepad window and on the keyboard press Alt + F.

  • Method 1: Click inside an Edited Notepad window and on the keyboard press Alt + E + Alt + N. In the "Find" window that opens, type any text to search for and press Esc to exit the "Find" window. Press Alt + E + Alt + N again to find the next instance of that text.

How to Create a Log in Notepad With Code

  • Step 1: Click inside a Notepad window, type ".LOG", and press Enter.

The edited Notepad window displays the text of ".LOG" and the insertion point, or blinking vertical line, appears on line two of the document.

 

  • Step 2: Save the file by pressing Ctrl + S. In the "Save as" window type any text in the "File name:" field to name the file, and click the "Save" button.
